Unfortunately that is exactly the way it turned out. Any other day of the week and I would have been all over it.
It's not that a SE 20 knot day is rare around here it is just that they are rare this time of year. July and August only see maybe one or two days like this. To top it off this was at one of my favorite SE launches. York River Seafood and the tide was going out. When that happens you end up with a glassy smooth transition area behind one of the marsh islands, a semi flatwater transition in front of the launch and some nice rolling swell in between to play on or jump if you so desire.
